Sharing a table in public

Twelve dinners at twelve locations with twelve different themes in Paris,
as far as the gates of the city and its outskirts. Neighbouring locations,
places at the fringes full of meaning, where the ideas of boundaries and
marginalization intercommunicate. Each dinner is staged in a public space,
thus removed from its original context, its usual four walls.

spielzeit’europa 2010 zeigt an der Fassade des Hauses der Berliner Festspiele eine Videoinstallation der Künstlerin Meggie Schneider in Zusammenarbeit mit Sasha Waltz & Guests. Die Installation Composition With Twelve Windows arbeitet mit Fragmenten aus den Fotografien von Bernd Uhlig, die im Rahmen des Sasha Waltz’ Projekts Dialoge 09 – MAXXI in Rom entstanden sind. Die Tänzerinnen und Tänzer agieren mit Gesten und Blicken in den ihnen zugeordneten 12 Fenstern. So entsteht ein neuer Dialog mit der Architektur des Theaterbaus von Fritz Bornemann.

COMPOSITION WITH TWELVE WINDOWS
spielzeit’europa 2010 presents a video installation by artist Meggie Schneider in collaboration with Sasha Waltz & Guests on the facade of the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. The installation Composition With Twelve Windows features fragments of photographs by Bernd Uhlig, which were taken as part of Sasha Waltz’s project Dialoge 09 – MAXXI in Rome. The dancers perform gestures and expressions in the 12 windows allocated to them. This creates a new dialogue with the architecture of Fritz Bornemann’s theatre.
